IWINACInternational Work-conference on the Interplay between Natural and Artificial Computation

IWINAC2009 Pre-Organized Sessions:

S07.Bio-inspired Computer Vision Applications

Chairperson: Mariano Rincón  Zamorano. Co-Chair: Enrique J. Carmona Suárez.

It is broadly known that multiple methods can be used to perform the same task, each with its advantages and disadvantages. However, it would be very interesting to know what real world problems are trying to be solved with each kind of method, the degree of fulfillment of the objectives, the simplifying assumptions utilized and the problems encountered.

The aim of this session is to provide a forum to discuss about bioinspired solutions to leading-edge computer vision problems, with special emphasis in high level vision problems such as object recognition, activity recognition, object tracking and scene description under real conditions.

The methods can include, but are not limited to: neural networks,  evolutive algorithms, knowledge-based systems, bayesian networks, agent-based systems, etc.
