IWINAC Topics: 3.2.2.2

Description:

The goal of image understanding system often involves the identification of objects in images and the establishment of the relationships among the objects. This transformation of signals (the images) to symbols (the interpretation) in the visual domain is one of the most important and most difficult task in artificial intelligence. One of the main challenges in image understanding is to develop a flexible, adaptable system, capable of performing complex image analysis tasks and of extracting information from varying scenes or images. The aim of this session is to explore the role of human vision, perception, and cognition in the design, analysis, and use of computer-based image systems. Over the years, it has brought together researchers from a wide variety of disciplines, from all over the world, for a rich and lively exchange of ideas. This dialogue is based on the growing understanding that the bioinspired models is a fundamental key to the advancement of image systems, and that advances in these systems and applications stimulate new research into the vision, perception, and cognition of the human observer. Presentation topics on image understanding include: Algorithms and Architectures; Applications; Evolutionary Computation; Learning Theory; Neuroscience; and Visual Processing.

If you are interested in submitting a paper in this session, please ask the organizer about your intentions. After the organizer agree to include your paper in his/her session, you could select the session in the submission form.
